Sketch To Life

Hello again, LOL ... this time I'm blogging on my 'mad skill' in drawing!  I've been drawing ever since I don't know ... ever since I knew what a pencil and paper is.  Anyways, here are some of my best sketches starting 2006 - 2008.
(All sketches before that will hurt your eyes)

Three Is A Charm

I referred this image from the book 'On The Edge'.  It's a book about balancing the earth's resources...that's what it says on the cover.  Three cubs together drinking water...how adorable & I drew this because I wanted to try drawing animals instead of just objects and humans.

Survival In Tanzania

Also from the same book as the above sketch, it's a pretty interesting book with amazing photographs!
"In Tanzania, people in remote villages are concerned with survival, not long-term conservation goals".
The photo held such strong emotion, a child with flies all over his face made me want to...erm...feel the rush of emotion drawing it...Am I making sense? I hope so...

Red Is The Color

It's a red lipstick ... just in case you're wondering what color is it.  Just experimenting with commercialized, solid objects.

Feminity

Yep, it's Beyonce ... The flow of the hair is what triggered me to draw this, LOL.  So, really not much to say.

Pair-less Shoe

Obviously, it's a shoe ... nothing more, nothing less.  Oh, and it's pair-less.  Alone...so alone

Annabelle

Ahhh ... My adorable little cousin Annabelle <3...love>

Tiger Eyes

I know you don't see any guitar here ... but this is a portrait drawing of the guitarist from the German band, Tokio Hotel.  90% Complete. (FYI, I did a brief recording of this sketch)

Winning Effort

Just wanted to post a brief summary on a graffiti competition that I took part with Cathy.  [Side note: Cat, you are a great partner...it was a pleasure working with someone who is motivated and has good attitude.]  The competition was on the 8th of March 2009 at Gurney Plaza Penang.  It went well and we ended up in the top 5, 4th place to be exact...which was a HUGE achievement as both cathy and I are amateurs in spraying.  But, ahem...before the good stuff, we went through a lot of err...foolish experiences hahaa...such as

1. Running through the monsoon

Yep, we had to walk in the rain, searching for an abandon building where we can practice spraying...it was one of the MOST silliest idea that I came up with, period!  Of course, no pain no gain...so no regrets, we both are proud to say we went through the monsoon to win this competition...hahaa, right Cat? Cat??

2. Met a butterfly lizard!

Yep, we encountered something that looked very much like a butterfly lizard at one of the abandon buildings that we visited.  I heard butterfly lizards are harmless but yet it chased us away.  So we ended up practicing on cardboard boxes in KDU, with AC!  Pheww...

3. Drove practically ALL over Penang
We went up and down, back and fro, left and right and every possible direction...buying spray cans, searching for secluded/private areas where we can practice, finding for food ( all this activities made us very hungry ), collect free cardboard boxes...and what not

**There are many more pre competition foolishness but I'm going to save our faces and get to the winning moment

Outcome after 2 days practice

Competition Day!

Our concept's 'Last Minute'... which is definitely related to us.  We got the idea like 2 days before the competition hehez, sometimes last minute ideas are the best because it's spontaneous and comes out in the heat of the moment making it 'real.'

Completed Work! Woo Hoo!  Yep, we looked tired...we ARE tired

Finally, results!  Just few days before the competition, Cat and I kept telling ourselves we WILL win!  It was that passion and determination that made us to come practice even when we were really tired.  I guess when I tell myself I CAN win, I MUST win, and so I WILL win (somehow in a way... LOL).  Seriously, making it to the finalist, Top 5 is an honor and I am very proud of myself and my partner, Cat.  We did it!
